Regret Sliding Genioplasty--Thoughts? (pics)

Hi all,

In May 2015 I had double jaw surgery with setback and advancement of top jaw. The procedure went pretty smoothly and was (supposedly) done with one of the world's top surgeons.

1) I believe my palate should have been expanded because my bite is "tight" and my back teeth still dont touch (something I will discuss with the Dr). I feel like I'm biting on my top teeth.

2) I believe the advancement genioplasty done to correct my profile (which I paid an extra $2k) was overdone. I don't regret the decision to do through with it because my profile would have been week after setback, but I am really upset at how much the surgeon brought it forward. It feels unnatural, exceedingly "strong" and the lower 1/3rd of my face is just strange in my opinion.

My face is more pointy now than it was with my underbite.

Please let me know what you all think. I have an appointment with the surgeon soon, where I will discuss my thoughts.

It has had an unpleasant psychological effect on me.

The "after" pics are the bottom two? Yeah you look a bit pointy. I think that might just be because you have a slim face, not a square face. I'm no expert.

Also, because of the lower angle and open mouth smile it's hard to determine if it's the angle or an overdone chin. But if you don't like it, make sure you communicate that to your surgeon. You should feel more confident after the surgery not less!

Pic 1 is pre-op and pics 2-4 are post-op, right?

I see a lot of people getting Genio on here. I am not sure why so many are performed. Did they tell you why you needed the chin moved forward as well. I was told I did not need it. Im assuming they have a reference point they use. Good Luck and ask them about the ideal positions and how they come to determine them.

I think you look great! The pronounced chin in pic 2 is very masculine looking and spot-on with aesthetic rules of thumb. The inward curve below your lower lip is a good thing! :D

I also think you look great. If I didn't know you or that you had jaw surgery, I would not even notice your chin at all. I mean that to say that it looks natural.

I don't see anything wrong with your chin at all, in my opinion you look great!! But if you don't feel good then you should absolutely talk to your doc.
