Thinking about jaw surgery

Hey guys, I'm a 21 year old guy and I have a mild underbite... Nothing too bad, but it does bother me a bit cosmetically. Is it worth to go through all of the surgery hustle just for cosmetic reasons?

Has an ortho told you you need the surgery? Because a lot can be done without it.

If you DO need surgery... well, we can tell you what it's like, but only you can decide if it's worth it.

I've been told I need it and I'm still unsure... For me if it was cosmetic I wouldn't but that's me!

On a cosmetic basis, you may think you look fine, which is awesome, but no matter how "mild", I think having a misaligned jaw can lead to problems down the road. If you have the means to correct your bite now, I'd do it.

I echo this!!! By the time you are in your 50s, the stress on your teeth will have caused some major damage. Not to mention headaches, etc. I wish I had had my surgery decades ago!!! Don't put it off -- do it NOW while you are young, heal faster, etc. :)
