I'm on day 33 post surgery and my lower lip and a part of my chin are still numb. After how long you got the feeling back?

For me i could feel my lower lip even just after the surgery. But the area under my eyes and my cheeks, nose, gums, tongue were numb. My tongue and upper palatte regained feeling after 4-5 months op. It's normal to feel numb even after a long time. I'm 8 months post op and still have partial numbness on my gums. But it's decraising day by day.

I'm 14 weeks post op and my lip is still numb. Recovery varies from person to person and is partially dependent on how much manipulation the nerve suffered during surgery.

I'm currently 9 weeks post-op and I still have numbness on the right side of my lower lip and chin. I think sensation is coming back very slowly, moving from the outside inwards, but I could be wrong. The numbness in my chin doesn't bother me at all, but I think I would be a little disappointed if I never regained the feeling in my lower lip, as lip sensation is far more useful on a day to day basis.

Monday will be 4 weeks PO for me. I had ALOT of feeling 4 days later. I still have numbness now but I have more feeling than not. When I went in week 2 to have bands changed it was torture. My OS said I was the first patient he had that had this much feeling.... It's a good thing bad thing situation. I'm scared about the pain for when my splint is taken off.

I was super worried about my first wire change post op but I didn't feel as much as I thought I would. It was annoying and there was a lot of pressure, but I made it through. It's actually nice not feeling the majority of my adjustments and the pain following.

I'm almost 5 months post op and I am still numb in my gums and fairly numb in bottom lip/chin, but I have more feeling than I did right after surgery. I suspect I'll regain full feeling it will just take some time. Small improvements every week that don't feel noticeable at the time, but then you look back and think how much improvement has been made since the surgery. Don't give up hope.

Thank you all! My chin is getting all tingly but my lower lip is almost dead...just some pins and needles sensation mostly during the night but nothing else. I'm worried because I suck at kissing with a numb lip. Today I tried to kiss a mirror and my god if it felt weird. No feeling at all. I hope we can all regain 100% the feeling eventually.

I'm 13 days post op from upper and lower. I'm hating the numbness on the left lower lip and chin. Crossing my fingers and toes that I regain feeling soon! Have any of you tried supplements to help repair the nerve? Any luck, if so?

I hope I regain full feeling eventually
