Can feel bone moving in chin after sliding genioplasty?

Hi,

I had a sliding genioplasty 11 months ago, everything went fine but 6 months after I experienced problems with a nerve in the chin and needed surgery to correct it.

I'm now awaiting surgery again as I'm experiencing LOT'S of swelling, nerve pain and tightness however recently I can feel bone moving in my chin (almost like a piece of bone isn't attached to my chin) and loud clicking when I move the bone, which others can hear too.
I'm not sure if it's bone clicking or the metal in my chin.

Has anyone experienced this or have any idea what it is?

Could be several different things. Broken plate, broken screw, loose screw, bone fragments, non union of the bone, infection near the metal causing bone loss...

Definitely follow through and get it checked out.

Wow that sounds intense. So I have a few questions: how many mm were you advanced to begin with?

When you felt the bone moving, was that also when the swelling started? Or did the bone move without any other symptoms initially?

Let us know how it went! I'm curious as I personally am pretty anxious about relapse, nonunion, and things of that sort.
