Panic Attacts constantly after upper jaw surgery.
It’s been two months since I had my upper jaw surgery for my underbite. They made one incision and that’s it. I barley took any pain medicine at all and only had to wear ripper bands for around two weeks by my surgeon. No splint or wired shut. He told me everything went and looked perfect afterwards and now I’m back to going back to the orthodontist every few weeks. I’m still wearing rubber bands through him. Around a month ago I had my first panic attack thinking my jaw was trying to come lose and every since then i have had many panic attacks about the same thing. But every time something triggers it like biting into food and sometimes just nothing. Iv never ever had a panic attack other than these. I keep shoving it off as a panic attack but wonder if it’s actually real because I feel weird things in my mouth and that’s what sets it off. Can my jaw actually fall out of my mouth or you know down into my mouth? Again I’ll have these attacks and sometimes eat and hour or two later but they are really frightening and make scared to death. My bite/teeth or profile as people call it on here is perfect at least as far as I’m concerned. Every time I bit it hits the same place ect. So I’m confused if there is actually something wrong. Is there something that could be wrong or am I just having panic attacks ?

You know, if you are really worried that something is wrong, just get an xray to put your fears at ease. It is fairly easy and cheap to get a panoramic xray. Just ask your ortho about that.
I don't think your jaw can get loose from chewing, the force is not great enough, and I would imagine you would be in alot of pain if it happened. It probably is just a mental hurdle you'll need to get through.

Maybe you should ask these to your surgeon, to get great peace of mind, have him explain with x rays and stuff that your jaw can not come lose
