Preparing for double jaw surgery - nervous

Hi all
Posted in braces section then realised I should be here.. but 10m into my brace journey and earlier than initially estimated I'm scheduled for my bilateral osteotomy and I'm getting nervous! Has anyone had one and can share any tips or advice? I'm not sure how long I'll be out of action but my surgeon has said I'll only need to spend 2 nights in hospital.
This has been a long journey for me; I have had an anterior open bite for over a decade causing me various issues and am now in my thirties with three young children and finally about to have this procedure first mooted to me when I was 20!
Any advice appreciated. I'm also a bit worried about post-op swelling.
Thanks.
