I have gotten much better movement and overall feeling in my upper lip (I couldn’t even suck out of a straw for several months after surgery) but my upper lip still feels very tight and my husband says it doesn’t move much when I talk. I had a Lefort 1 and impaction.
Will I ever get full movement back in my upper lip?

Are you doing the jaw stretching exercises with the tongue depressors?? I think that helps to give your mouth mobility. I also sing with a lot of facial expression / movement in the car when I'm alone LOL!!
I think the biggest challenge for jaw surgery is the scar tissue -breaking it up and making sure new tightening does not occur. I'm hoping that I can eventually get rid of the braces and throw away the tongue depressors. However; I'm one year post and I think I have another 3 to 6 months in braces and I imagine being 70 with those darn sticks still sticking out of my mouth in my free time.
