Do I need double jaw surgery revision?

#1 Post by MyJawJourney »

Hi everyone, I had a double jaw surgery earlier this year and ended up with severe asymmetrical bite and chin. My surgeon totally ignored my complaint and called me paranoid...but he did offer me some kind of jawline shaving surgery... Not sure if I need to start searching any revision surgeons.
Here's the link to my pics/ceph taken by my orthodontist.

Thanks.

It seems to my untrained eye there may be a slight cant, but I would go for a second opinion.

Your occlusal cant is very obvious. I cannot believe any qualified surgeon would put you into this. Also because of the cant one of your screws - upper right in the pic - is too close to the teeth. Can you share with us who's your doctor?

I can see the slight cant, but the casual observer won’t notice it. I think the difference in the bony growth between the left and right side of your mandible probably makes it somewhat more obvious. I’d recommend the bone shaving over the risks of having a revision, of anything, but it’s ultimately up to you. Good luck!
