Hey there,
I am at almost 4 weeks post double jaw surgery and noticed recently that my top front teeth are numb. I guess after they took out my splint and I could start `exploring`my mouth. At the same time I have had a lisp since the surgery. Is it possible that both are related? And do they generally go away?
For the last two days I have had occasional shooting pain in one of my teeth. Which hopefully means that the numbness won´t be permanent.
thanks

I think all my teeth ache/hurt, especially all the molars. However, my top gums are completely numb. My splint comes out next week. I am quite expecting to have some sort of speech impediment because all my mouth has been re-arranged inside!

The lisp could be from your tongue getting used to the new position of your jaws, and the numbness might make that even harder. Both should get better with time; you’re still early on in recovery. Give it another year
