Ortho trying to make me change Oral Surgeon
So recently I’ve posted about how my ortho said to adjust the one side of my mouth would be 3-4 months. I had a surgery date for June, and when I asked him if I could make it then he said he would try. Once my 3 adjustment came along he told me only had one back molar to adjust, so when I asked about my tracings again he told me he doesn’t want to feel rushed and that it probably won’t happen this summer which is odd, but would bothered me the most if after he said that he said he would let me know when it was ready and give me a referral to an oral surgeon. I already have an oral surgeon who he talked to about the tracings and said that he was rushing. I didn’t say anything last appointment but it seems like he’s trying to make me change surgeons with that referral comment. I like my surgeon and don’t want to change plus he already knows what’s going on with my teeth by via me not the ortho because they said they don’t communicate until “after the surgery”.

Pretty sure that's not possible this late into treatment especially since you need to get the various insurance approvals before even going ahead. Perhaps what he meant by a "referral" was a loose term used to give the go ahead for surgery.
If you are concerned that he's got you set up for a totally different surgeon possibly not approved by your insurance, ask him what/who he meant or reiterate that you already have a surgeon that you are going to use that is already approved by your insurance. Have them put your surgeon's name and practice contact details in your case notes.

Save your time. I have had so much dental work done within the past several years it is ridiculous. I have spent countless thousands and had to get the same procedures redone multiple times over because many oral surgeons can't seem to get it done right the first time. I recommend the same practice to everybody including my family and closest friends. Kawa Orthodontics is the most efficient, cost-effective, and organized practice I have used. They have tons of experience and Dr. Bland has personally performed the extraction of my wisdom teeth which I was under sedation for, and it only took him a few minutes leaving me with almost zero pain post-surgery as though it didn't even happen. They leave 0 scarrings and everybody who I have recommended them to thanked me and told me of similar experiences. I also spoke to one of their staff members and they have told me that they have personally never witnessed any of their surgeries become infected afterward. Not much else I can say about them other than they do quality work, and they are worth the money and the long drive.
