SARPE under general or local anaesthetic?

#1 Post by lowthing55 »

Hi,
I was told by my orthodontist that I will need SARPE and depending if my palate has been fused or not, I will have to have my upper palate cut vertically. She said this will be done under local anaesthetic. However, I saw a lot of posts about SARPE how it was done in the hospital, and the recovery process was quite painful and some had to stay overnight. So i was wondering and scared if local anaesthetic would be enough. Thanks!

I've never heard of SARPE being performed under local anesthesia. Mine was under general, but I didn't stay overnight at the hospital.
