Had an adjustment last Tuesday, so I updated the livejournal.

Mostly the same old thing...but the promise of a closed gap and new wires are on the horizon! Excitement! :D

Thanks for checking in on me Karen, Stacexox and bracedagain! :D

KK -- Thanks! I gotta think up what I'll be getting next time for colors. Can't risk getting stuck with silver ligs again like last month.

Stacexox -- Thanks for the compliment on my lj! Yeah, the fangs go away fast. I originally thought they were my biggest problem, but little did I know, my bite was the worst thing my treatment would have to deal with!

bracedagain -- Thanks! I have hopes for high praises this next adjustment. The bite is feeling good as long as I make sure to wear the elastics for most of the day. On the couple of days I slacked off it felt a little off, but as soon as the elastics went back on it just snapped back to where it was supposed to be. As for how long, my original estimate was 24-30 months. It'll be 24 months in March...and they promise we'll be done before July....but other than that, all my ortho will tell me is: "Oh...you don't have -that- much longer to go..."

lol.

I didn't ask until...oh...maybe 3 months ago because I was afraid of what I would hear. I did hint a couple of times, but she never responded. Finally, in August I was having such a horrible week, I figured, "What the hell? What's the worst thing that could happen?" So I asked and she was at least positive while not giving me an answer.

She said that there wasn't much more to do, it wouldn't be that much longer and that I'd be done before we were out of the original treatment estimate range (this is why she said before July.....despite the fact that 30 months would actually be September, my chart says July 07 because I went in for my first appt. in January 05...eventhough I didn't get braced until March 1st.).

Oh well...I'll get 'em off eventually. I'm just so sick of the things!

Hi Alexa :) Sorry it's been so long. Had a family crisis to deal with but I'm back now. How have you been? I haven't updated my page in a while, either, but I have an appointment on Monday, so I will update it then. :) Hope you're doing ok.

I just read over your whole journal so far :D Congratulations on the progress. You're right, the fang thing is not uncommon, I posted a comment to one of your blog things that mine were similar to start (only worse). I don't have many pictures from before either.

I was 20 when I got my braces (23 when off) and I remember getting carded constantly and having people think I was younger too. I'm 32 now and I STILL have people thinking I am 20ish.

If I ever have children, they're going to get this stuff done when they are kids, whether they want it or not, so they don't have to worry about financing it all themselves!
Oh I am so with you here!! I had to pay for my own as an adult because it wasn't affordable (plus ins covered no ortho back then) when I was a kid. Two of my three kids seem to be home free, but the little one is only 2, so we don't know yet. Because of ME, she probably will need.

Anyway, adjustment #22 was on Tuesday, and I took the pictures then, but am just getting around to posting.
