NYC Orthos?

#1 Post by Ursa »

Hi,

Can anyone recommend an orthodontist in NYC who specialize in Invisalign and/or recommend a website which has patient reviews of specific orthodontists? I'd like to get a couple of consults to see if my issue can't be resolved via this treatment.

Also, is it common for a fixed retainer to be placed behind the teeth after treatment is finished with Invisalign to preserve the results?

This site is a wonderful resource.

Thanks

I am in NYC and my othro is one of the best invisalign othros out there.

Jacqueline I. Fulop-Goodling
DMD
Specialist in Othrodontics and INVISALIGN

She has two locations ( I go to the one on Manhattan)
Her website is www.drjackiesmiles.com

Her office is really chic, staff is really friendly and will answer all your questions.

Good luck! :D

I am not from New York but I was on Youtube and saw a video for Jacqueline I. Fulop-Goodling:

There are also a TON of patient videos and clinchecks that Dental Pride has put on youtube as well. They were really helpful to make my decision to get invisalign, and I know they are located in NYC.

Their website is http://www.newyorkcitycosmeticdentist.com/Default.htm and the youtube account is InvisalignExpert. They have tons of videos of patients talking about invisalign and the orthos and the service.

Sorry If I am butting in here since I don't have any personal info to give you. I just spent a lot of time researching invisalign and I found a lot of good stuff on youtube.

Thank you for the links. If you have any other research you could share with me, I'd appreciate it.

My issue is really just the aesthetics of my four front teeth so I'm trying to find more info on the Inman Aligner, but there doesn't seem to be much out there.

BTW, love your avatar; I've been trying to convince people for years now that Vodka counts as a healthy daily vegetable serving.

Hi, I'm in NYC and Dr. Marc Lemchen is my ortho. He's a top Invisalign guy, and a great doctor, but expensive. He's a great communicator, and his office is very state of the art and professional. The assistants are wonderful, and the reception staff are great. It was a long wait to get a consult, but I'm very happy with everything so far and would definitely recommend him.

Thanks for the suggestion, nogota. How much more expensive was the quote you got from him than from other doctors? I assume you feel that extra cost has been worth it.

His quote was quite a bit more than other drs. But he had the most experience, and came highly recommended.

I had a slightly complicated case and he worked with me to find the best solution for me. I had to choose between surgery and extraction. He laid out a whole slew of options (upper jaw surgery, lower jaw surgery, extraction, full braces, metal v. ceramic, invisalign, etc.) and talked with him patiently and openly until we worked a plan that best suited me, while still getting the best results. He was very clear about the pros and cons, and that with the path I chose that we might have to alter the plan depending on how my teeth adjusted to the treatment. Also after my consult he mailed me a detailed account of what the plan for my treatment will be, just to make sure we were on the same page.

I have invisalign on top, traditional metal braces on bottom, and had planned to get a bottom lateral incisor extracted. At my last adjustment, he took a very careful look at my teeth, and he thinks they are progressing so well that he thinks I can keep the tooth and get the same results with IPR (shaving between the teeth to make more room).

During the consultation phase, he took 3D xrays and put them into a computer simulation to show me how my face would look after each type of treatment, especially the two surgeries. At appointments, when he does a new procedure he shows me a tutorial of it on the computer at the treatment station, so I know what's going to be done and why.

Sorry for the ramble, but it's all these reason and events that make me recommend him. He makes me feel very confident in his practice and the results I will get.
