Did u get teeth whitening same time u had 1st brace fitted?
Hi there
Newbie and avid internet searcher on anyting to do with Invisalign!!
I had my 'moulds' done today, yey. My ortho said that he would whiten my teeth the next time he sees me (which will be when I pick up my first alligners).
Surely it would be better to get them whitened at the end??? He said it would add to the 'wow' factor??!!!
Not sure what to do?
Please help.

HI there, I got mine whitened at the beginning and it was a bit of a boost. I used my aligners to do it though. You can read about it on my blog here:

I saw a definite change in my teeth, and that helped me get through the first few weeks.

Thanks for your response. Its costing me £325 to get them whitened so don't really want to pay it twice (at the beginning and end) but it will prob make the alligners look better????
When you had your moulds done did any part of your gums hurt? I've got a sensitive bit at the back thats killing me today, hope the trays aren't gonna rub!

That sounds a lot of money to get them whitened
Is he planning on doing the single trip with light type whitening? (I think its called Zoom)
If you do the overnight type whitening, where you put bleach in your trays before you go to bed every night for a week or so, then it really should cost you very little. The bleach doesn't cost the dentist much, and you've already paid the biggest cost, which is for the trays. My dentist actually gave me some bleach free, so I could whiten them during the treatment if I wanted to.
