Had my first 'social occasion' on Monday.
Meal out with 10 friends & no-one made a comment (or at least not to me)
I didn;t feel that self conscious either and I have been abit worried about my attachments. So not too bad. Have a wedding to go to in two weeks so I hope all goes well for then.
I am getting used to the attachments although I hate the feel of them, quite rough - oh well 2 sets down 18 to go!!

I wouldn't be overly concerned about social events. I recently did a bicycling event with a group of friends where there was no where to take my aligners out for a snack. When I told everyone I had plastic braces, I found out most of my friends had braces earlier in life and were unhappy their teeth were moving back. They are very supportive of me if not jealous.
Most ortho patients are much too self conscious - even with Invisalign. So far, I haven't had any negative comments. The biggest comment is no one believes I have them on!
I agree with your comment about attachments - mine were very uncomfortable. My ortho took them off recently for a mid-course correction so I'm enjoying a vacation for several weeks until I get a new set of aligners. Unfortunately, at that time, he is going to put them all back on again plus a few more.

i do go out quite a lot and havent had any problems because of my aligners. I keep them in the whole time when i go out, except dinnners obviously. My friends never commented on them. Even people that know that i wear them never ask any questions, i guess they just completely forget about them or they just dont care.

Hi there,
I wear mine out everywhere and people are used to me popping out to remove them. I tell everyone I have them and most people already seem to know that something was different about my teeth, so I suppose they aren't completely invisible. I feel somehow by pointing them out that this way they know what it is on my teeth rather than just thinking my attachments are food or something.
