could i benefit from invisalign?

#1 Post by mara0167 »

Hello Everyone-

New user here. I'm 20 years old and a college sophomore. I have always been self-conscious of my smile.

According to some of the doctors on this forum, I have a deep bite, lower crowding, and a Class II malocclusion.

Do you think I could benefit from invisalign, even with my bite issues? How would invisalign fix the bite? Would I be able to complete the treatment with invisalign, or would I need regular braces as well?

Here are some pics of my teeth/bite:

Just thought I would throw out some questions to you more experienced members.

Thanks,
Mara

Hi Mara,

I have a similar overbite like you -- when i smile my top teeth also cover my bottom teeth, and i am using invisalign and my doctor said it would definitely fix it up to like 95%. (i also have some spacing issues you don't have). She said at the end of my treatment my teeth will be almost perfect, but if I wanted it to be 100% i'd have to wear actual braces for 5 mons.

I'm going to see how my teeth looks at the end of my trays, but she said I'll probably be very happy with it and won't want to do the braces -- but we'll see -- 5 mons doesn't seem to bad!

Also, no one has been able to tell I have the invisalign on even when I tell them -- so that's good. :)
