Can Invisalign Fix ?

#1 Post by kimous »

Can invisalign fix teeth that have moved sideways.

There has been an attempt to close gap on left side of my arch with no success. However teeth on the right has moved towards the left when they attempt to close the gap. I am in the process of getting the gap open again for an implant instead but problem is I need to know if invisalign can move teeth to the right by 2 mm. I dont have overcrowding just arch is abit wonky. Cannot do traditional metal braces anymore at my age. I thought this might be a better option.

Just want to know before my appointment next week.

I guess noone could answer me. I was hoping my case would be able to help others out there with similar situations.

I Just had my consultation with the invisalign centre here in Sydney. The consultant showed me many case scenarios of what invisalign can fix. She told me invisalign can move teeth and root sideways to correct midline issues.

For some reason I have got a cross bite on one side due to teeth moving sideways from my previous treatment.

She showed me all the cases invisalign can fix successfully.

1 open bite
2 cross bite by moving teeth outwards

She told me that now days invisalign can treat severe cases also and not limited to simple or mild cases.

I started with a simple case then my previous orthodontist gave me a bad bite which i never had before.

I also now have a slight cross bite on my right side and an open bite on my left side of my top arch. I have no overcrowding issues.

She showed me case after case of the types of teeth movement i wanted fixed.

Im soo glad. Next week i will be getting impressions and x-rays. She will be referring me to the most experienced invisalign orthodontist in Sydney. There is also an independant panal of orthodontist looking into my case also.

Lets hope this works out. I will update when the clini check results come in. I want my smile back.

Fingers crossed. I hope no one ever goes through what I have been through with the previous orthodontist. I've had soo many negative experience to date for such a simple case to start off with.

Good Luck to everyone on invisalign I hope you all get fantastic results.

I'm nearing the end of a complex treatment (severe deep bite) that I had read couldn't be addressed by Invisalign before I started. My one comment here is finding a good orthodontist that is skilled with Invisalign. My ortho has an advanced degree and really good at explaining what he is working to do.

Good luck on your treatment!!

Noel 123 Get a second opinion from an experienced orthodontist. They are the best person to advise you. I was originally told that my teeth couldn't be treated either but they are being and it seems to be working!

Good Luck!

Definitely check with an orthodontist. I have a complex case that would have been difficult to treat with regular braces. My orthodontist has managed to do the correction with Invisalign. I do think it is going to end up taking longer. It looks like I'm going to go past the initial 18 month estimated treatment time. Also, in my case I'm approaching where I'll be wearing the same partial aligners for a while to allow some teeth to grow in instead of switching aligners every two weeks. What we are doing is something that doesn't show up in a regular Clincheck. I don't think a regular dentist would handle this type of case.
