first trays in yesterday
Well my trays finally arrived yesterday and have done one whole day now. I was surprised when i arrived at dentist and needed 4 tooth reductions straight away. No turning back now. The trays were surprisingly small and they really are invisable. Very happy with that. My appointment was at 12.00noon and I went straight back to work, into a meeting, nobody noticed a thing, a bit of slurring but that seems to have come right now. Popped them out, ahd a bit to each quick clean and back in again. They are quite easy at the moemnt to get in and out, but I am getting attachments, quite a few in two weeks so I have been warned! I may try and order an outie tool in readiness. I noticed last night that although I can feel pressure there is no real pain, but when I eat my teeth seem overly sensitive. Its a good start so i hope it continues. I think once I am in the routine of missing out on all my snacks and constant coffee I will be a bit more relaxed.

Sounds like you are off to a great start! Congratulations!
I do think insertion - and especially removal - is more difficult with attachments, but you will get used to it very quickly. Some people have used a small crochet hook or a tweezers to aid in removal. I have had seven attachments (5U/2L) and never had any problem with removal.
I am finished with my initial set of trays (12U/7L) in less than one week (YAY!) and still have tenderness with certain teeth when eating. It isn't painful, just noticeable. No worries there at all.
The lifestyle change is really the biggest challenge of treatment, in my opinion. I snack far less than I used to - lost 6 pounds as I had hoped - but I do drink a lot more water now, and that feels great. Mealtime had become an "event" for me now, and there is something really nice about that. I no longer eat just to eat, but only as an "occasion." Always looking for the silver lining...

two weeks into Invisalign- questions and concerns--advice?
Just finished my first two weeks with aligners. I had 9 attachments put on my teeth when i picked up my first set of trays. Is that typical? I had no idea I would get them right away or that many.
I have excessive crowding on my bottom teeth and liked my top teeth; however, finding those front teeth will also be involved in some movement which concerns me, especially because roots are involved in movement. Anyone heard any problems with that?
Disappointed that when I take off aligners you can still see my attachments as some have pointed edges.
This is all a lot more than I imagined. Still have a little lisp after two weeks, will that go away?

Don't worry too much about visible attachments. What you see in the mirror is from a much closer distance than what most people see. I had 4 attachments that I thought were very visible for over a year - nobody noticed and I didn't notice anyone staring at my teeth. Recently, I have gotten temporary clear partial retainers to replace my last set of trays. These are thicker plastic and I can clearly see an outline at the tip of my teeth. I asked my wife did she see the plastic outline and she couldn't.
Most people simply don't pay that much direct attention to teeth unless there is something that really attract attention such as missing ones, stains or really crooked. As a kid before my first braces, I had the latter and people definitely stared!!

I had 14 (!) attachments put on when I picked up my first trays. Practically every one of my front teeth has one. I know they are there, I can see them when my aligners are off, and I can see the aligners when they are in because of them. But I'm the only one who seems to care hehe.
I had a speech issue for the first couple of days. Not a lisp, because apparently my natural teeth configuration has already meant my tongue has adapted to a weird way of talking anyway, but some sounds were hard to get out. I seemed to notice that more than anyone else did. I practised the alphabet in front of the mirror every time I went to the bathroom and retrained myself to make the sounds right.
