I had my impressions retaken yesterday for refinements. As he was taking out the bottom set my bonded retainer snapped.
He repaired it by just gluing it next to the other tooth. There is loads of cement type substance (not sure what is called).
The wire is no longer in a straight line .
Should he have redone it all?!?!?
This probaby makes no sense lol

Yes they are generally rebonded.
SOunds like there is just some extra adhesive that needs to be polished away. GIve a call to the doc so they can do that for you.

Hi
I rang up and he said he'd actually bonded the two teeth together with composite where the wire had broke. So no wire goes accross the two teeth but they are glued together.
He said it was an old school method that is actually better than a bonded retainer, hmmmm.
YOu really have to put your faith in these guys. He also told me I can drink wine and eat and not brush when putting them in.
I'm definately listening to the wine bit lol

There is a method that does that. Big in Japan from what I remember.
Also instead of a wire some docs use a reinforced fiber.
With either method you should still be able to floss with threaers, etc.
