Ouch!!!

#1 Post by newsazzysmile15 »

Hi all,

Just looking for some advice?

My latest set of aligners (12) are causing me some real pain, and it is all located where I have two fillings. These are the only fillings I have and they are in my lower right molars, next to each other. It feels as though these teeth are really not happy about moving and the pain is unlike any other aligner pain I've experiences so far. Do you think that fillings can disrupt the process?

I have had a relatively smooth journey to now but am worried about the lower aligners because of this pain. I also have a lot of gapping and one tooth sits at least .5cm below the top of the aligner. I saw my ortho last week for more sets of aligners and ipr and he just said to make sure I'm using the chewies but I'm slightly more concerned!

Any advice appreciated!!

Thanks

Gaps can mean that your teeth aren't quite tracking as expected which might also be why your dentist mentioned the chewies. I suppose the only thing you can do about this is make sure that you are especially vigilant about wearing them as many hours as possible.

As for the pain, I would call your dentist on that one. Invisalign really shouldn't hurt and pain usually means that something is wrong according to my ortho.

Good Luck, I hope everything is ok.
