Hi I am happy to have found this site devoted to those going through, or who have completed Invisalign treatment! My question is this: I am scheduled to have my invisalign seat date on Aug 26. I have read that the first few days after starting treatment can be somewhat painful. I am wondering if it is painful to brush and/or floss during this time? I know it is imperative to keep your teeth and gums free of food after eating. I am concerned that I will be in so much discomfort even brushing/flossing will be challenging. If anyone can share their experience with this aspect of beginning treatment it would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Flossing after getting Invisalign
Check out my Invisalign Bog at http://invisalignadventure2010.blogspot.com/
Hi,
it's not that bad so don't worry too much about it. Yes your teeth will be sore after starting each set which is absolutely normal as they will be moving. You will feel some discomfort and a bit of pain when brushing/flossing but after a day or 2 this should go away. I remember having a sore mouth the first couple of days after I removed my trays to brush/floss. Some trays hurt more than others.
Everytime you are in a bit of pain remember that you are doing this to get beautiful straight teeth. It's worth it.

fresh memory
I am only 2 weeks into treatment, so my memory of this is very recent!
I found the first couple of days, everything was sore - brushing, flossing, eating, talking. After that it got much better, and everything is pretty normal now. Occasional soreness when I reinsert the aligners after a long meal - I think my teeth are very eager to return to their home positions!
2nd set of trays to go on tonight. I'm scared...
