Hey,
I'm wondering if anyone knows why invisalgn actually gives you dry mouth?
Also, does it actually genuinely dehydrate you, or does it make you feel more dehydrated than you are? I am quite prone to dry skin on my face anyway, and I'm not sure if I'm just being paranoid but I feel like since getting my invisalign in my dry skin has been exacerbated, even though I'm drinking lots of water and moisturising.
Thanks

I don't know the answer to this, but I am also curious. Does anyone have any input?

No idea why either, but my lips are super dry unless I use lip balm constantly.

Re: Why do you get dry mouth?
I don't have Invisalign but I have noticed my mouth is dryer since I got braced...I can only attribute it to keeping my mouth slightly open, especially when I sleep. I never held my mouth open before I had braces...but I catch myself doing it a lot now.

My story in this forum:

Braced: 4/7/2011
Metal Upper & Lower
Sentence: 18-24 months

Re: Why do you get dry mouth?
This is kind of odd, but I don't think it could dehydrate you. The only thing I could think of is that you might not be drinking as much as you think due to sensitivity??? I could see Invasalign being that way though...it's like a mouth guard.
Re: Why do you get dry mouth?
From what I remember, I was salivating like a dog, so this might get the dryness. Just drink plenty of water and you'll be fine. You do have some new objects in your mouth and might salivate since you're not yet used to. Just replenish the water and let some time pass, you'll get more used to it
