Hi guys,
was just wondering if anybody has experience with the inman aligners? They're supposed to work really quickly (in a couple of months) and you can take them out for eating and drinking... They are actually made for adults with orthodontic relapse like myself.
I wore regular braces for 1,5 years at age 18. My orthodontist wouldn't give me a wire behind my teeth when treatment is over and now my teeth are back as they were... I'd love to have me teeth fixed with the Inman aligner since it's also a lot cheaper than haveing braces again...

Hi - I am getting my Inman Aligner fitted in a few days. Can't wait!! After years of promising myself I was going to get my teeth sorted but having a morbid fear of dentists, I'm finally doing it!! I've been so ashamed of my smile for so long, I can't express the thrill of finally doing something about it!!
My only concern is taking it out and putting it back in over the first few days when the teeth are at their tenderest. I've considered leaving it in for a full 2/3 days to get around this... Can I brush around the aligner? I know this probably sounds extreme but the dentist I am seeing is a considerable distance from where I live so if I did have difficulty in putting it back in, it's not a matter of popping down the road to see him! In fact he's so busy I may have to wait a week or two.
Also, what's the situation with drinking alcohol? I had assumed that I only had to take the aligner out when eating but if drinking with a straw, I'd be okay. My aligner is supposed to take about 6 to 8 weeks if that helps...
Any advice welcome!

Congratulations on your decision to get your teeth straighten with the inman aligner.
I've now had mine on for exactly today 2 months and are suppose to be done with it in a week or so!! Can't wait!!
About leaving it in for the first 2/3 days is not a good idea. Eventhough (as I have to be honest!) I actually thought about doing it myself the first couple of days. Cause yes, the pain your feeling after taking it out or putting it in is pretty bad. It hurts a lot, but I can promise you the pain is over within 2-5 minuts! After that you won't feel anything! And after around 5-7 days it really doesn't hurt you to take it out or in. It's funny with this tenderness, cause at this stage I'm in I really DO want to feel some tenderness of my teeth when taking it out, cause that's my kind of assurance that it's working and "doing it's job"
About drinking and eating with it: I wouldn't recommend you to do so. Well, eating definatly not! And if drinking then only water or perhaps tea (cold! never hot, that melts it, and destroys it!), but without too much colour, so the IA won't get stains from it. When i'm eating and are taking it out, I'm always putting it inside the yellow cage that I got it with, and then adding some water (cold!) on it. This makes it so much easier to clean with a soft toothbrush afterwards from spit and all.
Hope these advices could help you.
