OUCH! Invisalign "buttons" slicing my mouth to shreds!

Hi guys, I've been wearing my first set of aligners for 5 days now and I can't get to grips with these horrible "buttons" on my teeth. I have six on lower and 3 upper but they are so sharp (not to mention very visible! ). When my aligners are out and I'm eating they violently slice into my gums/lips, leaving them all red and inflamed. I have not eaten one meal yet where I haven't winced in pain, the first day was so bad I just sat there crying. My boyfriend has felt them and can't believe haw sharp they are.... Does anybody know if this is normal and if it will ease after a while? Thank you!

This is not normal. Sounds like your doctor or hygienist didn't do a good job at polishing them. Ask your doctor to smooth them out asap.

Hey, that doesnt sound too good. you should definately go back to ortho and get him to polish them some more.
I Got my invisaligns on thursday (16/2) and my buttons are quite sharp as well but not so much that they hurt like yours, i had 14 and am due to get more ina few months- is that some kind of record?-
They are unpleasant when the tray is out of my mouth but they dont slice my lips/gums, i have wondered if they make them unpleasant to make you put them back in quicker.
Go to your ortho as quick as you can coz they definately shouldnt be causing bleeding you poor thing.

That is weird but if you can't get to your ortho right away go the drug store and purchase dental wax, which is in the teeth section. You can press it on to the attachment to prevent further scraping
