Sick... Do you use (sugarless) cough candy with Invisalign?

I just started Invisalign and managed to get a cold a mere two days into it. I am a teacher and have to talk a lot which isn't easy with a razor throat. I usually use Halls cough candies but wasn't sure what to do now that I have the aligners. How did you guys navigate your first cold? Are sugar free candies safe to suck on for sore throats?

I've been having sugar free halls for a year with the trays in. My ortho said it's ok as long as they are sugar free.

Thanks...I tracked some down and they at least provide moisture. They don't help much with the razor throat but I don't think anything does.
How do you clean you aligners when you have a virus?

Good to know these are ok, I was wondering when I had a cold a few weeks back, but suffered through without.
