I did 15 months with Invisalign and my edge to edge bite is still there.
My orthodontist then took my final Invisalign trays and cut the backs off of them so they're only covering my 6 front teeth (top and bottom). She wants me to where these as a retainer only at night. The back teeth won't have a retainer. In 3 months I'm supposed to go in again for rubber bands (which she says I might have to wear for 4 months).
Does this sound normal? Will not having a retainer on my back teeth for 7 or 8 months cause them to "revert" back to their previous position (my top/left/back were originally behind my lower teeth, but the Invisalign fixed that)?
Ortho cutting the tray as a sort of mini retainer?

Sounds like the doctor is trying to let your posterior teeth erupt so that the anterior ones do not contact so much. With aligner treatment, there can often be a posterior open bite created, causing the front teeth to contact prematurely. Good luck!
