Invisalign and bleaching

#1 Post by lollyg888 »

I'm nervous that my teeth won't bleach evenly after I'm done with Invisalign. The reason I'm worried is that I have had 12 buttons installed on my teeth. Because the buttons are made out of bonding material, I'm concerned about the following:
a) my dentist won't be able to get all the bonding material off or
b) he'll file so vigorously to get the bonding material off (because he knows I'm nervous about residual bonding material and bleaching) and inadvertently remove my healthy tooth matter.

Does anyone have experience with bleaching after Invisalign with buttons in the treatment??? Please respond with whatever information you have.

Thanks! :D

hello,
my ortho said to wait till after the invisalign porccesto bleach as the buttons may affect it. He said once the process is done, they reove the buttons and bleaching will work fine.
ive had a few buttons removed and new ones put on and no damage to my teeth so far, why dont you speak to your ortho and outline your concers?
xx

Hey Helen,

Thanks for the reply:) But, I'm more concerned that my dentist won't be able to get all the bonding resin off and when I get my teeth bleached, I end up with spots or uneven areas. If that doesn't happen, I'm worried that he'll remove so much of the resin that he'll take off my good enamel as well.

Has anyone had experience bleaching AFTER having Invisalign buttons?

Thanks very much!
