For me, the main advantage is that you can take the things off to eat, Im not too bothered about the visibility thing, and Ive got used to the pain of ceramics.
I only have a small bracket so far on my bottom teeth to bring the eyeteeth into place for Invisalign, but I find the food getting stuck in the braces is annoying!
Also, I have developed a speech problem, a lisp and talking like theres something in my mouth which comes and goes, and that is something that I really want to avoid!
Any comments re eating with Invisalign? And also, my ortho says he has only ever had one patient who has had to have traditional braces on after treatment, so it sounds like he has had some success with it.
Should I stick with ceramic or is Invisalign worth it?

I had both. Invisalyn can't do as much as braces -- for instance, it can't pull down teeth. I had to wear a rubber band for a while over my Invisalyn try to try to pull down a tooth (really ugly!). Eventually, I got braces because it just didn't work. My teeth looked a lot better after the braces, although I think I had more confidence wearing them after Invisalyn, because Invisalyn did give me a little improvement. But the process took a lot longer with both Invisalyn and braces -- more than 4 years and counting, when braces could have corrected things in less than 2. Braces aren't all that bad. The aligners with Invisalyn aren't that much better -- they caused me to gag sometimes, they got cloudy, a few of them cracked and it's tempting to remove them when your teeth start to ache. With braces you can't do that; they're there and that's it. Less to worry about, I think.
