Well I got my first set of trays (out of

yesterday and I'm very pleased so far, however I just realized that one of the speedbumps on a lower canine fell off. Does this commonly happen? Will the trays not work properly until I get the bump replaced?

Hi,
No it is not common for them to fall off. It is the same thing as having a bracket fall off with traditional braces. You want to contact your dentist/ortho sooner rather than later and have it replaced. Otherwise you run the risk of delaying your treatment or having fit problems with future aligners.

Thanks for your response! I called the dentist and got an appointment first thing this morning so it's all taken care of. I don't really get the point of the speedbumps haha, do they actually help the aligners push your teeth? I guess I should have asked the dentist, lol!
And I just noticed that in my first post- the smiley face was supposed to be and '8'. Don't know how that happened.
