I haven't posted here in a while - finished my treatment in August. Got wires on top and bottom plus an invisalign like retainer for the bottom and a plate for the top.
The plate basically fits perfectly in the roof of your mouth.
I think that a tooth on the top (that is not being held by the wire) has pushed in a bit. Not a significant amount - but enough that I notice a difference when I smile.
I'm assuming this happened b/c I do not have an invisalign-like retainer for the top holding everything in place? The plate ensures the teeth remain where they are near the gum, but I guess doesn't protect against the bottom portion tipping in.
I am going to the Ortho on Friday for a checkup.
What do you guys think - would the Ortho remove the wire and go back to my last aligner? Or would the last aligner not push the tooth back out to the proper position?
I have tried putting the last aligner on just to see - of course, it doesn't fit perfectly b/c now I have the wire. But I can see that the tooth does not fill the bubble out quite like it used to.
Hope that makes sense.
