FOOD and Invisalign

#1 Post by pearlie »

Im getting my trays soon and have a question about food. I know they tell you take your trays out whenever you eat ANY food. Is there anything I can eat with my trays in? what about applesauce, yogurt, smoothies, etc.? are they most concerned about staining the aligners? how easily do they stain?

its best to start as u mean to go on so if I were u when trays in food out and when trays out food in, Im not kidding u it feels good to eat in the 1/2 time slot u appreciate food a lot more and if u do happen to be carrying a bit too much weight around I think most people wearing trays has lost some weight due to the fact no snacking when trays in :)

I had a smoothie with them in once, and that was fine. Wouldn't reccomend anything else though...once I ate ice cream and it got all in the trays and was just nasty.

Oh man. I just tried something really soft an creamy and it went into the retainer. I have a retainer btw, not the trays but I think they are similar. I guess the risk here is that the food stays stuck there and the tooth decay starts. I would take them out for sure.

Tonight I had a hershey kiss and let it melt in my mouth, with the trays in. If you're ever desperate for a chocolate fix that's the way to go lol

My ortho told me about his wife. She has also an Invisalign treatment and she never eats without her Aligners  . He said that this doesn´t really matter if you will take out the Aligners after you have eaten anything and brush your teeht and clean your aligners.

I can´t believe that this is really comfortable and healthy and I don´t know if I will ever do this.
