Don't worry it will go away. Chance are you will still think you sound funny long after your lisp has left.
I notice that sometimes when Im really tired I feel like Im lisping (and Im on try #39! ) but those around swear I sound fine so either it does go away over time or these people are just being really nice.

its been 9 months, tray 18, i can hear myself sounding a tiny bit awkward on the hard sounds like "th" and "st" and some "f"s. It also takes more effort to speak compared to chatting while eating and munching on food while the trays are off. I've gotten used to it though, so it doesnt bother me much anymore.

Re: lisping
Some sets are worse than others for some reason. I started 12 today and I'm not lisping. I was lisping all over the place with 11.sandra wrote:I have conceded to the fact that I will lisp as long as I have the aligners. Even when I have become used to a set, I still lisp and it is noticeable. When I put in new ones, it's really bad.
Anyone else?
I'm on my third set.

Lisping
I am on set 17 out 30 and my lisp is still really bad with the top aligner in. Two colleagues at work have commented on it so I don't wear the top aligner in the office anymore. If I concentrate quite hard when speaking and move my tongue back in my mouth, I don't lisp but it's very hard to do this and THIS IS SPAM REPORT TO ADMIN THIS IS SPAM REPORT TO ADMIN THIS IS SPAM REPORT TO ADMIN THIS IS SPAM REPORT TO ADMIN fluently.

Heh - I never speak the work speak anymore - I "talk"boaster wrote:I found I would try to rephrase tings to avoid having to make a lot of "S" sounds.
"This is the place" would become "We have arrived"
"Lets discuss this in my office" would be "we can meet in my office"
etc.
