concerns about invisalign

I had recently met with my ortho and now I'm trying to decide between invisalign and ceramic. My ortho told me I would be a good candidate for invisalign. My questions are 1). Can you chew gum if you are wearing invisaign and 2). How soon after you have had you teeth professionally cleaned should you go in the get the braces. Thank you.

chewing gum is a no but i think there are some chewy things u can buy which im sure someone will explain a bit further and ? number 2 im not sure about most people get there teeth cleaned after treatment.

Thanks y'all for your responses. I actually have my 6 month dental appointment coming up on 6/22 and I just met with my ortho on monday to discuss my options and costs. I don't think I would have decided by the 22nd whether to go for ceramics or invisalign and since I have to make another appointment for the moulding to get the ceramics or invisalign which takes about 6wks to be ready, I think I'll wait till Nov for the Ortho to order the braces and get my teeth cleaned and braces in Dec. Till then, I'll have this website fill me in with the pros and cons.
