Here we go

Invisalign a possibility or not?

Mostly interested in getting the bottom sorted, the gap which is due to an extraction a decade ago when I had braces first time round, never wore retainer so gap opened up pretty quick. Learnt my lesson for sure.

Don't really mind ceramic braces to be honest particularly on lower.

Thanks Meryaten

Been to see a couple of Invisalign offering dentists, who gave some differing opinions. Waiting to see an actual ortho, rare as gold dust in these parts. :(

Was hoping to get a few more ideas from the forum users with no vested interest in signing me up for an expensive course of treatment.
Appreciate the limitations of viewing only low res photos but would really appreciate any ideas.

Recently had a periodontal examination, been advised that ortho is ok.
In this last week switched to an Electric toothbrush, brushing technique was a bit harsh. On the bright side no fillings..... yet. 8)

Thanks :)

Hi,
I'm kind of a contradiction because I have invisalign on top to close up some gaps, but my ortho wanted to use traditional braces to close an extraction gap on the bottom. So I'd say ... maybe. You might be a candidate depending on what the ortho's think. My ortho said that when my gaps on top close there might be the black triangle up at the gum line. If this occurs, he suggested I bond them and that will hide that little black spot. That could be the same outcome for you, if you go with the invisalign.

My suggestion would be to go with whichever ortho makes you feel the most confident in the treatment and the outcomes and go from there. Good luck!

Thanks

Thanks nogota and Meryaten.

Have booked three consultations with out of town orthos and am working through the forums, learning a lot :).

Will hope to post my progress.
