I was wearing Invisalign for several months when my dentist gave me Fresh Cleanse denture cleanser to clean aligners. Shortly afterwards, I started getting eye infections, left eye drooping, bladder infection, ringing in ears. I didn't make a connection between health and Invisalign. In Jan'08 my dentist gave me a new set of upper aligners with The cleaner that starts with the letter P that has been used in spam posts, so it's censored. tablets. The next day I started having chest pains, racing/squeezing heart - but I'd had a bad cold so didn't make the connection to braces. Over the next 5 weeks, while wearing Invisalign and using The cleaner that starts with the letter P that has been used in spam posts, so it's censored. tablets as instructed (even extra brushing with a separate toothbrush to get chemicals off) I started having constant chest pain, heart palpitations, body chills and fevers, severe acid reflux, bladder infection, lightheadedness, face numb and tingling, aching legs, tingling in hands and feet, left eye drooping, nausea, sore burning throat, thick mucus in throat, high blood pressure, excessive saliva, extreme body tremors, etc etc. The FDA apparently issued a warning in Feb'08 regarding people getting sick and dying from allergic reactions to denture cleansers (which my dentist never knew about) and also the Invisalign company has documented that some people are allergic to plastics. It's interesting that only the denture cleanser company is being named the culprit, even though The cleaner that starts with the letter P that has been used in spam posts, so it's censored. has been around for at least 20 years and people are only recently getting sick and dying!!! Maybe they've changed their product, or maybe the real problem is that the cleansers cause the plastic braces to break down and leach BPA into the body??? Hopefully no one else gets as sick as I've been - after one month off Invisalign/The cleaner that starts with the letter P that has been used in spam posts, so it's censored. I'm still having tremors/fever/chest pains/gastro issues/bladder infection. Wonder who's going to pay all the medical bills????

I don't use a cleaner. I just brush the aligners with a hard bristle toothbrush and place them in a bowl of water while I have them out. I figure if they dry off it will leave a mineral residue, so I put them in the water. The toothbrush also has one of those little rubber things on the end, and I sometimes use it to rub some of the crud off the aligners.
