ClinCheck is back! Some interesting comments from my dentis

Well I got my clincheck back. How can I post it on here?
This is what my dentist is saying, what should I do??!!
Your lower K9 on your left needs to be angled a little bit due to the movement needed to get it into position. Also, the way the video shows the treatment it is reducing your profile and angling your teeth in a little. This is ok, but we want you to be aware of it. If you do not want the profile reduced so much , the alternative would be veneers to fill in any remaining gaps. The Dr. would prefer to make the teeth vertical and either do veneers or leave some space distal of the K9s.

Well, it's good that you finally got the clincheck. I'm always in favor of keeping the original teeth intact instead of going with veneers unless the original teeth are in pretty bad shape. That's just my two cents. I know several people with veneers on their front teeth, one with just two and the others with several veneers. Overall, they like how they feel and look. I would think the lower teeth are slightly less important to the appearance of your smile than the uppers.
If I understood what you wrote correctly it is like Meryaten said. But I wonder if moving your premolars and molars forward is an option to close any gap by the canines or if your bite is already perfect and the dentist doesn't want to mess with it.
(I'm not sure how to post the clincheck video either. I'd like to know if anyone knows.)

I'm no expert, but I'd be pretty happy with that end result
More importantly though - how do you feel about it?

The end result looks great to me, but i am really concerned about the profile being changed, as I don't know a lot about my profile and how it will change with this.
As I understand it profile changes mean that you will see less of your mouth/teeth when you smile, is that correct?
If so, reducing my profile will make my smile a bit smaller. This seems to me to defeat the whole cosmetic purpose of getting braces or invisilign since I will have perfect teeth, but not really be able to show them off after my smile decreases in size, but maybe I am misunderstanding and overanalyzing this whole thing.
Why do orthadontists and dentists confuse and scare people? I know they are trying to make sure we understand everything up front, but it seems like they do a poor job of explaining it to us, and make us more confused and scare us away from having treatment.

So i talked to my dentist today, and he told me that the profile change just refers to the angle of my teeth in the front. He didn't like the way they were going to be tilted too far inward. So, he is suggesting leaving some space on the canine and then it should be more straight as opposed to tilting inward.
I told him to go ahead and make the Clincheck based on his suggestion, and we'll see what it looks like, it doesn't seem like a bad suggestion to me, what do you guys think? You won't be able to see the gap i think.

Meryaten,
You asked earlier about the bite. I asked the dentist, and he said he is not touching it at all. If you look at my Clincheck, you'll see my bite looks fairly normal, even though another dentist told me that my bite wasn't right, it seems pretty good to me.
I do hear a clicking sound when I yawn, but it only bothers me if I pay too much attention to it, it doesn't hurt like TMJ sufferers usually report.
In terms of the gums, he hasn't mentioned anything about that, I didn't think that could be a problem.

Your clincheck movies don't seem to show much. The ones I got were of the upper and lower teeth separately and the front view. Mind you, I got these after I got my first trays., so I didn't use them to make the decision to approve the plan. I could have gotten more views if I wanted, but didn't want to bother them too much.
Here are the views I got. You can also download the files from this page instead of watching the smaller movie on the webpage itself.

I'm not sure if you have these views if it would change anything for you. It might be nice to make sure the initial alignment of your jaws is correct on the clincheck by being about to see the teeth from different views.

Wow John, you had to have quite a bit of movement done on your teeth.
I agree the views you provided give a bit more insight into the bite. I'll ask her to send those to me.

I didn't think they were that bad until I had the initial impressions taken and the dentist said mine was a major case, LOL. I'm on 18 or 28 now and my smile is starting to look pretty good. I'm just hoping the bite will end up good at the end. I'm worried that some of my upper and lower back teeth won't contact. I just have to wait and see.

Well, there was a bit of computer illiteracy in my dentist office, so they couldn't figure out how to email me all the additional views. They actually made me come in to take a "look" at them, but they didn't email them to me.
Basically from all the views I saw, there is little or NO movement on my teeth that bite down, and my dentist has re-assured me several times there is not any change happening to my bite.
The new clincheck they gave me looked good, my front teeth will not angle in so much, but they will leave a larger gap near the canines, which you really won't be able to see, so I'm good with that, so I authorized them to move ahead and I should have my first aligners in 2 weeks! Can't wait!

When I got those movies, I took a UBS flash drive in with me and just saved the files to that. I only got those 3 views, but I kind of want the other views now. The dentist had to explain how to make and save the movies to the assistant. I was at the computer, but I can't remember how to do it now.
From the clincheck movies you posted it looked like your back teeth weren't even moving, so your case doesn't seem that bad...at least compared to mine. How many aligners are you going to need?
