I'm new to this list and thrilled to find such a great resource to aid me in my quest for the perfect smile. I'm still on my first trays - I should have switched to the second trays on Monday but I added a few days since I wasn't fanatical about wearing my aligners in week 2. Apparently I eat throughout the day much more than I thought I did. I've also lost 5lbs so there are some side benefits to invisalign.
Can anyone tell me what the reprecussions might be if I switch aligners to quickly?

Hi Welcome to the world of Invisalign! I followed the rules of time in and everything went pretty much according to plan. But I've read where people have had to go back aligners for not complying. I always felt like I was paying this much money that I needed to do it right. The teeth seem to move in the first 3 days, then the roots are creating bone to anchor the teeth for the rest of the 2 weeks. So, if you want things to go right do the 22 hours, it's really not that hard once you get used to it. The last thing i wanted to do was cause a problem for myself. I LOVE Invisalign.....it just takes a little discipline. But, wow, I'm SOOO happy I've done it now!!!!

When did your ortho tell you to switch? You should really just stick to that plan. However, I had an instance once where my tray was cracked and was told if it cracked any more I could move on to the next tray before it had been the full two weeks. But lilypad is right, for all the money it's costing you then you'll want to follow the ortho's guidelines.
