how long do i have to wear invisalign? please read on
Sorry for the silly question but I'm new to this and still trying to learn. I just got my invisalign aligners put on today. I didn't have a chance to talk to the orthodontist as it was a VERY busy day in the office and once I left it was hard for me to talk anyway. The dental hygeniest said that I have 21 aligners--so how long will I have to wear the invisalign if I have 21 aligners to complete treatment. Of course I do plan on calling my orthodontist asap but I would like to hear your opinions based on your experiences.

If you are on a two week cycle per aligner then you would be looking at 42 weeks for your original treatment. Some people have a 3 week cycle.24braceface wrote:Sorry for the silly question but I'm new to this and still trying to learn. I just got my invisalign aligners put on today. I bounced between 2 and 3 weeks during the course of my treatment - it really depended on how my aligners fit and my densist was typically one to make the call although he always told me that if they stil felt too tight after 2 weeks wear them longer. As you go on you'll get to know when your ready for the next set - just dont jump the gun and switch earlier than 2 weeks - you need to givethose teeth time to settle
Dont feel silly about asking questions - that why we are here! We've all had some many experiences Im sure no matter what it is someone here will be able to relate.
Good Luck!

I had to sometimes stop my very busy ortho and say...hey...with my questions. I think he was used to dealing with children and it took him a couple of visits to realize he was dealing with an adult in this case. Don't be hesitant to question your ortho about anything, after all, these are your teeth and you're his customer.
GOSH, I've been wanting to use that smilely for a long time now! he he he

My ortho some time catches himself when he's talking to me because he'll say something he'd say to a kid like "How ya doing big fella." I'm at least his age.Lilypad wrote:I had to sometimes stop my very busy ortho and say...hey...with my questions.
