Near finished with my Invisalign treatment

I am nearly finished with 25 upper trays ( I had 20 lower trays). I am looking great with straight teeth. They were not horrible before, but wow now.

My sister had similar issues, and did veneers instead. Much more money, but immediate satisfaction. Her teeth are not entirely hers, although. She saw my new smile last week and wished she had taken the time to do the invisaligns.

Overall, I think they were a pain to deal with, but the results are great. I go back in 2 weeks; the dentist wants to do some refining; another mold and likely a few more upper trays. I looked at the study model of my teeth before invisaligns and cannot believe the progress. However, one canine tooth is still not quite right the Dentist said. I would be happy with where I am, but he is encouraging me to consider molds and a few more tray. Why not, it is part of the initial fee I think.

I will still need to wear the final trays as retainers for 3 months when I am done with refinement. I now have a son in traditional braces--he is so jealous of my trays! (Only 11 and therefore not an invisalign candidate).

Anyone considering the option of invisaligns, if you want to feel great finally about your smile go for it! :D

I'm wondering how comfortable the retainers are. Since they aren't putting extra pressure trying to move teeth I imagine they're not to bad?

I have a bonded retainer on my front two teeth and an essix I was supposed to wear at night only. If I dont wear anything during the day, I feel extreme pressure when I put the essix in. So, I've been wearing my last alligner for about 6 hrs during the day as recommended by my ortho. I think I'll try wearing the essix 24-7 for awhile as the invisaligner seems to be getting weak. So. Chris60, in answer to ur question, yes the retainers can be uncomfortable. It's the only part of invisalign I'm disappointed in as I was only told about the permanent retainer at the start . :-=

I have been wearing my lower retainer for a couple months. It is a regular inviasalign tray without the teeth "blocks" (he sanded them off) with a letter R on it rather than a number (ie tray 25). I forget that one is even in my mouth. My teeth look great, but I am having upper molds and refinements done next Tuesday.
