I'm done! I'm finally done! After 24 upper and lowers and 6 refinements my teeth are perfect!
To those of you considering Invisalign, I would say go for it! It has been worth every penny of the £5000 this has cost me.
I started my journey 10th Oct 2007 and am finally done this week. Just waiting for my permanent retainer to arrive next week. I will wear my last aligner for 3 months full time and then only at night for the next 3 months.
I wore aligners 1 - 6 for 2 weeks 7 - 24 for 11 days each and the refinements for 1 weeks a piece. My dentist said my teeth responded very well to the treatment as they were concerned whether my canine would pull down, but it did.
I can't stop smiling

That's great!
Are you able to post some pictures?
How much were your teeth still off when you got the refinements? I will need refinements in one month, but I have a feeling it will be more than 6 trays.

Congratulations!
Reading your post is motivating, I know that one beautiful day I'll be as happy as you
Question: Why did you change from 2 weeks to 11 days? Did you ask for it or did the orthodontist recommend it? If you asked for it, what did you tell him? I think my teeth move fast, the tray is only tight for the first two days and after a week it feels like the teeth have kinda settled. I've accidentally had my tray out for a very long time, and it's still been so loose that I can just shove it in with my tongue, no hands or mirrors!
I'm going to ask my ortho what he thinks, but he has very little experience with Invisalign (like 2-3 cases) so I'm sure his first response will be that it's best to stick with the plan. So I'm gonna need some good "arguments" for him to even think about it as a possibility and give me a well-considered answer.. so it would be swell if you could explain why you had to wear them for less than two weeks

Hi Everyone and thanks for your comments. If you can advise how to post pics, I will try to once my ortho emails me the pics on Tuesday.
anastasia - I went in to collect my aligner 7 and my ortho said randomly you can cut down to 11 days. I was really happy to do so as it cut off 3months of treatment. She said she could tell my teeth were responding well and I only had discomfort for 2 days max. The trays were never "loose" even when I wore them for 2 weeks.
John37 my bite was off and I had two black triangle for the refinements which I needed to have my attachments put back on. Not happy with that! But after only 5 aligners, the bite closed up and the gaps went. I had a teeny tiny gap still but my ortho thinks the gum may grow back but if not she will put a small white filling behind to hide it in a few months. It's only me that would notice something so small, but for the most part they are perfect. Straight and white and beautiful and I don't stop smiling!
BTW, the refinements hurt like hell! My ortho said this was because they hada lot of work to do in a short space of time. They expanded my arch to make room but had to move it back again to correct the bite. Ouch!
I simply love my teeth and I simply hated them before. They're fab!

Great news! I want to see piccies too - its really motivating for those of us just starting out and reading the "Invisalign hasn't worked" posts
I've been reading up about the black triangles, and it seems there is a possibility that the gum will grow back into it .... so your dentists plan seems a good idea

Just seen this thread...
Wow, I am glad it's all worked out for you. It certainly makes one feel better about it all.
So, no pictures?
