So I've been looking into Invisalign for months now. I finally got an appointment with an orthodontist in September, but he wasn't very confident that this procedure would work for me. He wanted me to get metal braces, but I'm a college student who looks rather young naturally and I'd prefer if I didn't look any younger than I already do--the average age people think I am is around 15, when I'm actually 20.

So after getting molds at this ortho, I got a second opinion. My new doc thinks I'm a wonderful candidate for Invisalign. He sounds so confident that I'm swapping over and working with him instead! So I got another set of molds done yesterday and am now waiting for my first three sets of aligners.

I am thrilled to know that my journey with Invisalign is approaching quickly. And it's a good feeling to know that when I graduate from my university, I'll be doing so with a beautiful smile!!

Welcome onboard and goodluck on your journey. The turnaround is remarkably fast. I reviewed the clincheck with my ortho and ALL my aligners came within a week and a half and I'm based in Montreal, Quebec Canada. Was overly impressed. I'm on my second day and it hasnt been that difficult to be militant (and i eat 6 small meals a day).

I have a question...I'm not really worried about the pressure Invisalign puts on my teeth, but I am concerned that I might not be able to remove the trays easily.

Has anyone had problems with this? I hear that some orthodontists will give you a tool to take them out with.

I had the same concerns and I asked my ortho. She said she's never had a patient that has had issues. The trays are quite flexible, you feel like you're going to break them at first. I have 4 attachments on my top teeth and the trays aren't so bad to remove.

Attachments can make them hard/difficult to remove. Mine are hard to remove due to attachments.

You will break the aligners if you bend them too much, and following the "instructions" on how to remove them is the best way to cause a crack IMHO. The aligners will bend right where the attachments are and this can crack and has cracked on mine before.

I now use my nail or an aligner hook where the attachment is to pop it over the attachment.
