Enamel Stripping?

Hi all

I've had "clearstep" braces in for about a year and half and have yet to be given a clear date as to when I'll be finished!

Anyhow, I went in for enamel stripping yesterday for two of the insicors on my upper teeth (next to the canines) which I presume is to create more space. I didn't realise until I got home, however, that the stripping has actually resulted in quite a big gap. It just looks unsightly; as if I've chipped both teeth. Is this normal? The dentist said he would only strip off 2-3mm but it looks much bigger than that.

I suppose what I really want to know is whether the space will close in time?

Any ideas?
