Facial muscle problems after wearing invisalgn

I began Invisalign treatment about 6 months ago and about 1 month in I realized wearing both aligners at the same time was just putting too much strain on my lips and chin muscle to close my mouth. There just doesn't seem to be enough room in my mouth due to an open-bite and protrusion of my upper and lower front teeth. I returned to my orthodontist w/ these concerns and was told I can wear just one aligner at a time, alternate wearing 12hrs. at a time. I know this will significantly extend my treatment time and am wondering if i should have just gone w/ Lingual braces that go behind my teeth instead. I have also noticed changes in my chin and lower lip muscles since wearing the aligners. In my mind, I now actually have to consider getting a chin advancement to correct this problem. Has anyone else had similar discomfort wearing Invisalign? I Am really unhappy w/ the effects on my facial muscles since wearing them. Appreciate any opinions I can get. Thanks!
