Hi! I asked my ortho for a copy of my clinicheck and he denied my request  He told me he doesn't think he can give it out anymore but I can bring in a camera and take pictures of it. Has anyone else been denied?

That's really odd. I never heard of a doctor not being allowed to give the clincheck movies out. I'd believe it's more likely he just doesn't want to be bothered trying to figure out how to save it. Or maybe he had a problem with other patients.

I find having the clincheck helps me and my dentist because I know exactly how each tooth should move on each aligner. If I see something not moving the way it's supposed to move I can point it out to him.

What's the difference in taking pictures frame by frame and having the movie? Looks like a concern about handling the data files?

I'm going to hazard a guess that your Ortho is erring on the side of caution, for reasons known only to him/her. Off hand, intellectual property reasons or perhaps future malpractice evidence? The IP reasons don't exist (as far as I know, I mean you paid Invisalign, the clincheck is yours and would do no one on earth any good). And as to your future dissatisfaction leading to a malpractice suit and in your hot little hands is the animated implied promised results! Much more likely. Chalk it up to Ortho insecurity and/or ignorance. Good Luck, still could be a good doc, just squirrelly.

It sounded like the doctor wanted mayflower to take pictures of the computer screen. That's just odd to me. :?

Thanks for the responses! I thought it was weird also. He mentioned that they use to give it out to their patients but stopped b/c of some program that wont allow it??? I think he's just making an excuse. If I paid that much for the invisalign, I should have a copy of my progress.
I'll bring it up again in my next visit (June).

Also, another thing that got me really annoyed was the fact that they initially told me they would work with my FSA if I paid everything up front and send me a bill each month for 15 months (length of my treatment) to submit to FSA. After paying everything up front, they said they couldnt break down the payments into 15 months since their computer wont let them to... Instead, they just gave me a bill for the full amount I paid. I'm very upset b/c I only contributed 4500 for to this year's FSA and was planning to put the rest to next year's FSA plan. ARG! I specifically asked them this question before deciding who to go to. I spoke to the billing manager and she said she couldnt do anything about it....

The ortho is really nice (he's one of the top invisalign drs in the NY area) and seems to know what he's doing but I'm not satisfied with the billing manager and receptionist.

That billing problem really sucks!

Maybe they have some sort of THIS IS SPAM PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR. THIS IS SPAM PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR.THIS IS SPAM PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR. THIS IS SPAM PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR. program or something that doesn't allow them to save the movies to a flash drive or the hard drive. But that doesn't make sense. They should be able save the avi clincheck movie to some place then email it or whatever.
