Sorry, tacked this onto the end of an old thread and it should have been a new one:
Has anyone found that they have increased difficulty getting the trays off and/or increased pain in the second week of a set?
My lower tray of set #2 is suddenly killing me and my teeth are super sensitive (I know it's partially from them moving because it's suddenly hard to get floss in between my molars). The muscles around my jaw feel incredibly tender, almost bruised.
Not sure why this would happen if I'm supposed to be fitting into the trays more easily at the end of the set. Maybe I'm grinding really hard and I don't notice?
it hurts more in the second week of a set!

In my case the second tray was more difficult than the first. It's my understanding the first tray only ensures your teeth are where the impressions were taken as a starting point.
I have several attachments and also experienced more discomfort with the first trays after they were put on, like I did with the second tray. Things got better as I progressed.
If you're on week two of tray two, you'll probably be going to your ortho in a couple of weeks, so you can ask the question then, unless you're finding a couple of Advil doesn't make it better. If you are very concerned, consider calling the ortho's office and see if you need to have the problem checked further.

Went to the dentist and I am grinding so bad my amalgams are about to fall out...guess that answers that question. She said to remember "lips together, teeth apart" during the day b/c I noticed I was grinding at my desk.
Has been a week of actively trying not to grind, just put in a new set of trays last night and I feel so much better. Relief.
