Hi

I got my first set of aligners today.

I'm pretty happy with them, a slight ache but nothing too bad. Only issue is the aligner doesn't seem to sit well on my upper left molars, so there is a bit of movement in it (ie I can bite on it and feel it moving up and down because it doesn't sit flush to the bottom of my teeth there).

I don't know if this should worry me or not because my molars aren't moving as part of the plan - just the front 6 teeth. It is catching on the inside of my cheeck though, so I will call in tomorrow to get it checked out.

It was amazing that even people at work that new I was getting it today didn't realise I had it in until I reminded them and to see it they had to get really close up!

Someone did point out (rightly) that I paid a lot of money to get invisible braces only to go around pointing them out to people all afternoon! ha ha

LOL ...... I was exactly the same!

I ended up deciding that letting people know was okay - because at least I had the choice whether to tell them or not. So I prattled on about it loads to my colleagues, but no need for the cashier at the supermarket to stare at my braces ;)

I didn't plan on telling my boss either, but someone else did, and he came in asking to see them! :)

Don't worry - anyone you tell with forget within a couple of weeks unless you remind them. In my case, this includes my wife and adult children. After seven months in treatment, my wife still offers me between meal snacks followed by "Oops - I forgot!". I'm not sure if she is really forgetting or if this is a new form of spouse abuse. One comment - if the snack is chocolate, the aligners are coming out!!
