Hi everyone, glad to join the forum

Ok, so I decided to wear Invisalign.
I was sent the clincheck and felt that it wasn't up to what I expected.
Then, my ortho contacted Invisalign to make adjustments.
I actually wasn't too happy either with the new, adjusted clincheck (although it looks better with the teeth look more in line), but my ortho convinced me that this is the best result I could expect. So I approved.

I was told by my ortho that if the final result is similar to what the approved clincheck shows, then I cant get refinements.

My question is:
1. Once I've finished the treatment, and not happy with the result, will I be able to get refinements free of charge?

2. The first clincheck requires me 20 trays U/L, and the new adjusted clincheck also requires me 20 trays U/L. Is this normal?

Every orthodontist is different, but I suppose by "approving" your ClinCheck, you have made a decision that you want your teeth as they appear in the final stage. If that is the case, the orthodontist has done what you have asked using Invisalign and there isn't a reason to do refinement. The only reason for it would be if you wanted a change to the original treatment plan, something that you would likely have to pay for.

So I guess I'll have to stick to the approved clincheck and hopefully the final result will look better than the clincheck. I think it's hard to just look at the clincheck, cause sometimes pictures dont justify the real result or maybe the other way around... Well, I hope not, so, finger cross.

No matter what, the clincheck is an approximation of what will happen to your teeth. Even if the treatment works exactly the way it's supposed to, the clincheck is just an illustration, not a reality that can really be measured.

As for the number of trays being the same but having a different result, well that's not terribly unusual either. There are endless numbers of possibilities for moving your teeth in 20 trays. There is no single definition of "fixed" in terms of moving your teeth.

The second option you saw was just a different approach with the same method.

As for refinements, that will depend on your doctor, each doctor addresses this in their own way. Just make sure to talk to yours about it first.

Yes, I decided Invisalign, although expensive, but I can't imagine going back to braces (I had braces long time ago).
It's a new experience, and so far it's not bad compared to braces.
