What do attachments actually do ?

What do attachments actually do ?

Hi everyone,

1st post, am currently on 2/18 and received attachments 2 days ago.

What do they actually do though ? I mean how do they work ?

Attachments are put on your teeth to cause movement. If they are lined up in the bubbles properly on your aligners they push on the aligners and cause your teeth to move or turn.

Attachments can be used for active movement on that tooth, as well as serving as an anchor for other teeth as they move. Experienced doctors will not put attachments on where they are not necessary, so if you have one, it has a purpose and your orthodontist should be able to explain why it's there!
