I am coming towards the end of my invisalign treatment(21 of 22 trays) however i am fairly sure i will need refinements as i know one more tray is not going to get my teeth to what i want given i have paid £4k for this treatment.

Can anyone confirm for me how many course of refinements are included in the invisalign treatment plan? I am 29.

Also my ortho did a scale and polish on my teeth today i was charged £35. Is this normal? Should this be included in the £4k i have forked out for my entire treatment?

Thanks

The number of refinements included in your fee depends upon the contract you have with your ortho. Three refinements as well as a mid-course correction are included in my fee. I also will not be paying an additional fee for anything else - like polishing. I am paying $5050.00 in Chicago, Illinois.

Check your contract to find out what exactly is included, and then if it is still unclear, call the ortho's office and ask them to explain what is covered for you. Coverage really can vary from provider to provider...

Hope this helps! :)

Much depends on the country where treatment is provided. I'm in the US and had a mid-course correction (same as refinement but earlier in treatment) included as well as a pending refinement.

My orthodontist may do some minor cleaning, but defers regular cleaning and scaling to my regular dentist.

Its a good idea to clarify with your provider exactly what is included as this can vary.

Thanks for the info, what about whitening/polishing?

Whitening and tooth cleanings, bondings, etc. are generally not included in the treatment fee. Those are extra services. More and more docs 'include' whitening with ortho but they are the minority.
