Hello everybody,
I've enjoyed reading everones stories here, a fantastic pool of knowledge.
I have a quick question regarding invisalign.
I'm on tray 8 of 16 top and bottom. I'm very pleased with the bottom so far. The top however I'm not so sure. My two front teeth used to stick out a little before I started treatment. I've noticed (as I have trays 9-12 in my possession) that its moving the adjacent teeth out to meet the front two rather than pushing the front two back in. My front teeth always bothered me but now it seems they're all been pushed out. It will straighten them all right but will they stick out too much? What does anyone think? Am I worrying over nothing? Has anyone else experienced this straightening whilst been pushed out as well?
Thanks for reading.

While I am only on tray set three, I think I might be able to put your mind at ease. Looking at my clincheck video, it appears that my teeth will also be pushed out, then brought back in by the time the treatment is finished. I thought this was kind of a weird way to go about it, but hey, I'm not the ortho! :) Maybe this is what is happening with your treatment too. Do you have a clincheck video to refer to the expected final positioning of your teeth? If not, maybe bring your concern to your orth/dentist. Best of luck! I'm sure it'll work out to a beautiful smile!

Thanks for replying.
Glad to hear it's going well for you. I hope you're right. My orthodontist never even mentioned clincheck. I didnt even know what it was until I came here. I will see him again for tray 13.
I presumed he would mention if the treatment would move my teeth outwards, as this is a purely cosmetic treatment and that is obviously not desirable.
Trays 1-8 involved a lot of moving left and right and rotating. Trays 9-12 are definitely moving them outwards though. I get the sinking feeling they are been moved to their final position :(

Heya,

Hopefully can put your mind at ease too. I noticed something similar with my upper canine (its the most twisted of the lot) as it seemed to becoming more pronounced. I then checked out my clincheck video and that got rid of my worries. When i watched the video more carefully i saw that that tooth moved outwards to create space for it to then twist and fall into a more natural position.

I'm now at the most 'outwards' point' and i can now see it starting to move towards where it should be.

Also, i've now almost finished the treatment on my bottom teeth and frankly the effect has been brilliant. I'm wearing my bottom aligner for one more week and then just at night. They're pretty much perfect now. Only had them since march :)

Based on my results so far i'm really happy with invisalign.

Nice one. Good to hear you've had a positive experience.
I guess I wont know until I see the last tray.
My two teeth (the lateral incisors) are moving out in line with the front two and maybe as you say they will all move back in later on. Heres hoping
It seems unlikely though at this late stage...
